If you came to the site somewhere between 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm yesterday you might have noticed that the site was down. All I can say about to you is that I apologize. What happened is a post of mine about Battlestar Galactica made it to the front page of Digg. When a story gets to the front page of Digg your site will have an influx of visitors that may take your site down. Well this happened to this site yesterday. My analytics say that I received almost 5000 visitors however I may never really know how many people actually tried to come to the site due to the fact that the site went down. I personally blame the hosting service that I am using because my site is supposed to be on a VPS server. You would think that a VPS could handle a load like that because I have seen share hosting services that could handle 5000 visitors. Over the next couple of months I am going to ponder a few things about the site such as whether to get a new host, a new professionally designed template, and selling ad space on this site. More than likely I will be looking for a new host because I can’t have a VPS host that can’t handle 5000 visitors in a day. Just to let you know the site went down after only 547 visitors. The rest of the visitors came after I made a call to tech support to get the site back up and running.
